Built as a substitution for the GMC Envoy, the GMC Safari and the Pontiac Montana, the Acadia is in view of the GM Lambda stage. In spite of the fact that GM manufactures various SUVs, the Acadia is the first uni-body vehicle and the first to have front-wheel drive. Ready to seat 8 the Acadia spaces between the Yukon and the Envoy in the GMC line-up. Beginning with the second half of 2008, GMC the Lambda-based vehicles will supplant the Buick Rainier, the Buick Terraza and the Buick Rendezvous.
