Based on the Volkswagen B5 stage, the facelifted Volkswagen Passat was enhanced with several components which enhanced both the execution and the presence of the auto. Adjacent to the projector optic headlights and the tail lights, the German auto producer included in 2002 a 4 liter motor which created no under 275 horsepower. In addition, in 2004, the organization presented a 2 liter turbocharged diesel motor which added to 136 horsepower, making the new Passat the main average sized car fueled by a diesel motor in the United States.
