The last Land Rover Defender was produced January 29 at production line in Solihull. Thus ended the 68-year history of the legendary off-road. The British manufacturer has repeatedly stated its intention to remove the "veteran" from production line, first edition were going to stop in December 2015, then postponed to 2017. Low sales are not allowed to invest in a serious car reconstruction. Defender did not get an airbag and every year it meets European ecology and safety standards less.
Two years ago the British company Kahn Design began to collect signatures at change.org portal for the preservation of Defender, but their initiative was supported by less than 400 people.
For 68 years there was produced more than two million classical Defender.
