While the past era saw a suspension update from struts to twofold wishbones in front and from pillar pivot to multi-interface in the back, the 97' dispatched new Galant saw the arrival of the struts. Notwithstanding, the back suspension was further improved by including a stabilizer bar, standard with all trims. Otherwise called the Legnum or Aspire, the crisply restyled auto additionally accompanied another scope of motors. The little 1.6 L petrol unit was dropped while another 3.0 L V6 conveyed for the misfortune. The new Galant was additionally marginally beefed up with a 0.5 in expansion in length, height and width over past era models.
